Old News

May 8th, 2014 • New album "Swim" out sometime soon

I'm currently in the final stages of preparing a new album which is going to be released on der kleine gruene Wuerfel. Can't believe it's been almost 6 years since the release of Row By. There's no release date set yet, but it shouldn't be too far in the future once I'm done with the final touches. Sure enough, I'll post about it here.

August 6th, 2012 • New Release "Rush" out now on Noorden

It's been ages since the last blog post here and even longer since my last release "Row By", but finally here's something new. "Rush" is a little EP with carefully selected tracks from my by now surprisingly big collection of unreleased music. You might have heard some of those tracks in one of my last live sets already and it really feels good to have these out now. There will be more in the future, but who knows when. Let's see if it takes me another four years. Time is precious. And rare.

For now, there's this for you to download and listen:

September 16th, 2010 • Live: DIYDA / PLAN2010 / September, 24th

Currently preparing a new live-set for this night. It's definitely not the average party you're going to be attending.

June 22nd, 2010 • Live at "geatmet:ES". Thursday, June 24th.

Crazy things are going to happen on thursday in Cologne. German band "Komplizen der Spielregeln" are hosting an evening at artheater, where they're going to play a show and while they're at it, a handful of people, including myself, are going to work with just what the band is playing to make some kind of realtime-remixes out of the audio stream. The results are then presented almost instantly after the concert.

After the remix sets, there's going to be some kind of DJ-/Live-"Battle" with Marc Lansley and myself. We're going to jam and do funny things, music wise. Our first and only rehearsal was very promising and we're actually excited to play this on stage.

Line-Up is as follows.

December 7th, 2009 • Farewell, Monotonik!

Simon Carless has decided to put an (hopefully just temporary) end to his netlabel "Monotonik". Existing from 1996 until just yesterday it was one of the very first netlabels around, and sure one of the best, too. For all the details read his post. For everything else, maybe just get some of the greatness that has been put out, and maybe also my Daylight Confusion EP, which was released there on new years of 2006.

Thanks, Simon!

May 29th, 2008 • New Delhi FM at "Der kleine grüne Würfel Labelabend" July, 25th 2008

Along with Breitbandkater and Das Blaue Monster I'll be playing live at "Der kleine grüne Würfel" Labelevening taking place at the great Gebäude 9 on July, 25th. Mark this in your calendar and come over, it's going to be great!

Here's the official press release:

"Der kleine grüner Würfel Labelabend

Fr. 25.07.08, Gebäude9
21 Uhr, Eintritt 5 EUR

Live: Breitbandkater, New Delhi FM, Das Blaue Monster
DJs: Banhart Yorck, Finn Tark, Iron Curtis

March 23rd, 2007 • About

New Delhi FM, founded in Stuttgart in 2001, is a music project by Sandro Boege, who now lives in Cologne.

Sandro's music was initially best described as IDM, but he never actively or consciously set himself any stylistic limits. His range has meanwhile expanded to include elements of dub techno, IDM and ambient, and sometimes a combination of all three. An important first step towards this fusion was his album "Row By", released in 2008 through net label "Der kleine grüne Würfel".

While in the shape of CD and net label releases New Delhi FM is music you would mainly listen to at home, Sandro's live sets focus heavily on adapting his music to a club setting without stripping it of its more ethereal elements. He makes a point of keeping his live sets as spontaneous and improvised as possible. Instead of mainly pre-sequenced tracks they consist of everything from free motifs drawn from a sound pool created specifically for the purpose to tracks that are just similar enough to the original to remain recognisable to the listener. As a live set of this type specifies only a vague order of tracks and is otherwise subject to as few rules and limitations as possible, no set is like the other. This approach requires more work and concentration both in preparation and when performing, but the result feels more exciting and organic for artist and audience alike.

Sandro Boege is currently focusing on completing new solo material, but also collaborates with a Cologne collective in the field of audio/visual art and two bands from Cologne. A new New Delhi FM album is planned for the first half of 2010.

Thanks for listening!

March 23rd, 2006 • Daylight Confusion review (German)

From Intro Magazine #136:

By Arno Raffeiner

November 17th, 2005 • New EP out soon!

Out soon on monotonik: New Delhi FM - Daylight Confusion EP.

I changed my mind about 'Gradients of Green' yet again. It still needs a lot of work until I'm satisfied with it, so I thought compiling an EP with some of the tracks that should have appeared on the album would be best for now. Stay tuned!
